IT IS NOW THE PAVILION AT STAR LAKE A A NEW LOGO FOR IT’S BEEN CALLED MANY MANY THINGS OVER THE YEARS IN JANUARY THE NAME WAS CHANGED FROM KEY BANK PAVILION TO S AND T BANK MUSIC PARK. HOWEVER, MANY PITTSBURGHERS ME INCLUDED HAVE ALWAYS JUST CALLED IT STAR LAKE RIGHT THE VENUE OPENED AS COCA-COLA STAR LAKE AMPHITHEATRE BACK IN 1990. REMEMBER IT WELL BILLY JOEL WAS THE VENUE’S FIRST NATIONAL PERFORMER. WE SPOKE TO A LONG TIME WHO TOLD US. ABOUT THAT DAY THE TRAFFIC AT THE TIME WAS SO HORRENDOUS TO GET THERE. THEY DID NOT GET THERE TILL THE SHOW IS HALFWAY OVER A MY DAD. I’LL NEVER FORGET. 'Star Lake' name returns to Burgettstown concert venue

Star Lake is back in Burgettstown. The concert venue's Facebook page appeared with the former name and image on Monday.The venue has had several names over the years. In January, the name was changed from KeyBank Pavilion to S&T Bank Music Park. However, many Pittsburghers have always called it Star Lake. The venue opened as Coca-Cola Star Lake Amphitheater in 1990, with Billy Joel as its first national performer."The traffic at the time was so horrendous to get there, they did not get there until the show was halfway over," said Rich Engler, a longtime Pittsburgh concert promoter. "My dad, I'll never forget, he said, 'Rich, I wish you the best of luck out there, but we're never coming back.'"But in spite of all the traffic problems, the department of highways stepped up and built that extra ramp and extra lanes on there and pretty much solved the traffic problem."Engler also spoke about the current state of live music in the pandemic, saying that all his Pittsburgh-area shows scheduled for the first couple months of 2021 have been postponed.The live music business lost a projected $30 billion worldwide in 2020, according to music industry magazine Pollstar.
