RYAN: JUST AN ABSOLUTELY BEAUTIFUL SIGHT TODAY AT THE CEMETERY OF THE ALLEGHENIES IN WASHINGTON COUNTY. THE HEADSTONES OF THOUSANDS OF VETERANS HAVE BEEN ADORNED WITH WREATHS. THIS IS ALL PART OF THE ANNUAL WREATHS ACROSS AMERICA EVENT. IT USUALLY TAKES PLACE ON ONE DAY, BUT THIS YEAR IT WAS SPREAD OUT OVER FOUR DAYS BECAUSE OF THE PANDEMIC. 500 PEOPLE A DAY HELPED TO PLACE WREATHS ON GRAVESITES, 14,000 OF THEM IN ALL. DOZENS OF LOCAL GROUPS HELPED TO RAISE MONEY TO BUY THE WREATHS. THE RIBBONS WILL BE REMOVED AND THE WREATHS RECYCLED DURING A CLEAN-UP DAY

Wreaths decorated thousands of headstones at the National Cemetery of the Alleghenies in Washington County.The veteran headstones were adorned with as part of the annual 'Wreaths Across America' event.It is usually a one day event but it was spread out over four days because of the pandemic. Five hundred people a day helped to place wreaths on gravesites. A total of 14,000 gravesites were decorated.The ribbons and wreaths will be removed and recycled during a clean up day on Jan. 23.
