The Pittsburgh Penguins 2021-22 regular-season schedule has been released.

The Penguins home opener is set for Oct. 16 against the Chicago Blackhawks.

It's back to a full 82-game schedule and Pittsburgh will play every team in the league at least twice.
The Penguins will get their first crack at the NHL's 32nd team — the Seattle Kraken, on Dec. 6 in Seattle. Former Penguins Jared McCann and Brandon Tanev and the Kraken will come to Pittsburgh for their lone visit on Jan. 27.
The Penguins website lists some noteworthy home games:
- Oct. 23 vs. Toronto - Reigning Rocket Richard winner Auston Matthews and the Maple Leafs come to Pittsburgh for a Saturday night tilt.
- Oct. 26 vs. Tampa Bay - The Penguins host the defending Stanley Cup champion Lightning in their only visit to PPG Paints Arena.
- Nov. 4 vs. Philadelphia - It's the Battle of Pennsylvania as the Penguins host their cross-state rivals for the first of two matchups in Pittsburgh.
- Feb. 1 vs. Washington - Pittsburgh renews its rivalry against the Capitals as they make their first of two trips to Pittsburgh.
- Jan. 27 vs. Seattle - The NHL's newest franchise makes their only visit to Pittsburgh.
- March 11 vs. Vegas - Fan-favorite Marc-Andre Fleury and the Golden Knights return to Pittsburgh for one of just six home games that the Penguins will play in March.
- April 14 vs. New York Islanders - It's a Round 1 playoff rematch as the New York Islanders make their only visit to the Steel City.
- April 26 vs. Edmonton - Reigning league MVP Connor McDavid and the Oilers make their only trip to Pittsburgh.
