Pitt fans everywhere know H2P means "Hail to Pitt" — and now it also stands for "Heisman 2 Pickett."The Pitt Panthers celebrated quarterback Kenny Pickett being a Heisman Trophy candidate with a display on the U.S. Steel Tower on Friday night.Watch the huge display in downtown Pittsburgh: Click the video player above.The "Heisman 2 Pickett" message, along with the quarterback's number, 8, and the Heisman image, were projected onto more than 25 floors of Pittsburgh's tallest building.On campus, students shared their excitement for Pickett being named a candidate. “I text my family every day and say, 'vote for him, come on, let’s go,'" Kelly Nitowski said. “It’s really cool to see that he actually made it, and his year's been amazing so far.”Pickett is getting a lot of attention from the fan vote, but that accounts for just one of the 928 total votes for the 2021 Heisman Trophy winner.“He deserves it. He’s done incredibly well, and we’re all really happy," Annie Hoffman said.Pitt fans excited about Kenny Pickett and ACC Championship Game: Watch the video above.Fans can cast their votes online in the Heisman ballot through Dec. 6. "He’s obviously one of the best quarterbacks in college football right now. He definitely deserves the Heisman, and I think we’ve all been waiting for that," Liam Horan said.Student Nick Woten said Pickett’s chances are solid.“I think he has pretty good chances, because we’ve had a lot of games and put up the second-most points in the Coastal conference," Woten said.
