MY TASTE AND SMELL ARE NOT QUITE THE SAME YET. AND I CONTINUE TO HAVE TROUBLE BREATHING. SO AFTER A YEAR PLUS, A -- I CAME HERE TO ALLEGHENY HEALTH NETWORKS POST-COVID RECOVERY CLINIC TO GET ANSWERS FOR ME ATTH I HOPE MAY HELP YOU OR SOMEONE YOU KNOW. THIS USED TO BE EASY. >> LEGACY EVEN DOING THAT. >> EVEN FROM LITTLE THINGS. BUT THE BIG THINGS. >> LET ME SHOW YOU YOUR CD -- CT SC OANF YOUR CHEST. THIS IS BASICALLY YOUR RIGHT LUNG AND LEFT LUNG AND THAT’S YOUR WINDPIPE IN THE MIDDLE. AS I SCRLOL DOWN, LOOKING AT YOUR LUNGS, THIS IS NORMAL, THEN WE GET INTO THE RIGHT SIDEND A THE LEFT SIDE, THIS IS THE BEGINNING OFHE T HEART. ALL OF THIS LOOKS COMPLETELY NORMAL. >> BUT WHAT HE SEES AND HEARS TALKING TO ME IS NOT. YOU FEEL LIKE WHEN YOU TAKE A DEEP BREATH AND YOU HAVE TO GASP QUESTION MARK >> THIS IS SOMETHING THE DIRECTOR OF THE BREATHING DISORDER CENTER SAYS THEY ARE SEEING OFTEN FROM THOSE WHO DOCTOR’S NOW CALL COVID LONG-HAULERS. AND WHAT THEY LEARNED PROTEDMP FORMINGHE T COVID RECOVERY CLINIC, BRINGING DOCTORS WITH DIFFERENT SPECIALTIES FROM CARDIOLOGY TO PULMONOLOGY TO PSYCHIATRY TOGETHER AND THIS ONE SPOT. >> INSTEAD OF SENNGDI PATIENTS FROM ONE DOCTOR TO THE OTHER WE BRING THEM TO THE POST COVID CLINIC AND WE HAVE A DISCUSSION ABTOU EACH PATIENT AND TRY TO WORK TOGETHER TO TGE TO THE RIGHT TREATMENT PLAN. I THINK THAT HAS BEEN BENEFICIAL TO PEOPLE BECAUSE PEOPLE AND POST-COVID HAVE BEEN THRGHOU ENOUGH. >>OR F PATIENTS LIKE ME WITH TESTS THAT APPEAR NORMAL, HE SAYS THEY LOOK DEEPER. ISTH IS ONE WAY, A PULMONARY FUNCTION TEST. I WAS PUT THROUGH FOR VARIATIONS ABOUT 30 MINUTES, SOMEWHAT THE DOOR CLOSED, SOME AFTER TAKING ALBUTEROL TO OPEN MY AIRWAYS. >> DEEP BREATH THEN, BLOW IT ALL THE WAY OUT. KEEP LOWING. >> EACH IS DESIGNED TO MEASURE LUNG CAPACITY. WHICH FOR ME, LKSOO GOOD, BUT NOT UNUSUAL FOR COVID LONG-HAULERS. THE DOCTOR SAID THERE IS MORE TO DO. >> I WILL INCREASE THE MEDICATION, ORDER A STRESS TEST AND THEN I WILL HAVE A LOOK AT IT .T >> WHILE MOVING FORWARD WITH THAT HERE, I, LIKE SO MANY OTHERS WHILE TRYING TO GET MY SMELL AND TASTE BACK. THEY ARE SEEING SUCCSES WITH ESSENTIAL OILS. ROSE, CITRONELLA, LEMON, EUCALYPTUS AND CINNAMON. THEY SMELLED EACH TWICE A DAY FOR PERFORMANCE. FIRST, READ ETH LABEL, THEN BREATHE EACH OIL AND ONE AT A TIME WHILE READING THE LABEL AGAIN OVER AND OVER. >> IT’S LIKE REHAB FOR YOUR NASAL PASSAGES. YOU ARE GOING TO REHABILITATE THE SENSES THAT HAVE BEEN AFFEEDCT BY INFLAMMATION AND RELEARN THE PROSSCE AND TRAIN THE MIND FOR WHAT THE SMELL SHOULD SMELL LIKE. >>I OAM WORKING ON THIS AS WELL. YES, IT’S FRUSTRATING TO BE HER MONTHS OR MORE THAN A YEAR LATER, BUT THOSE OF US STILL FEELING ETH IMPACT OF COVID ARE THEIR FOCUS AND WE ARE NOT ALONE. >> 20% OF PEOPLE HAVE LONG COVID SYMPTOMS. 20%. THINK ABOUT IT,0% 2 OF 55 MILLION, YOU ARE TALKING ABOUT MILLIONS OF PEOP.LE >> HE SAYS MOST DO GET PAST IT. >> IT MAY KETA A LITTLE MORE TIME, BUT YOU WILL GET THERE. >> MY PLAN FOR NOW IS MORE EXERCISE, MEDICATION AND MORE TESTS.
