EVEN THE ATHLETES WHO PERFORM AT THR EIHIGHEST LEVEL IN THE BIGGEST MOMENTS CAN STRUGGLE. WE LEARN THAT IN TRAGIC FASHION RECENTLY WHEN JAMES MADISON UNIVERSITY SOFTBALL STAR LAUREN BURNETT DIED BY SUICIDE LAST NIGHT. A HI GHSCHOOL GRADUATE WAS A SOPHOMORE AT JAM MESADISON AND PLAYED A HUGE RO LEIN THE TEAM’S 2021 COLLEGE WORLD SERIES CHAMPIONSHIP. SADLY, SHE WAS DEALING WITH SOMETHING NO ONE COULD SEE.IT ENDED WITH HER TAKING HER OWN LIF E.IN THE FEW WEEKS SINCE THIS HAPPENED, WE HAVE HEARD FROM A VARIETY OF ATHLETES AT LEVELS ABOUT DEALING WITH MENTAL HEALT NO BUT UNFORTUNATELY, IT LEADS YOU TO A DARK PATH. THAT OUR PASTOR GOT TO GET OUT OF AND IT STILL TO THIS DAY IS VERY DIFFICULT. >> LAST YEAR WAS VERY HARD FOR ME. I WOULD GROW UP IN A BALL AND NOT WANT TO DO ANYTHING AT L.AL NO BE E ONOF THE LASTING MESSAGES FROM THESE ATHLETES IS THAT THEY RELY ON OTHERS TO HELP THEM DEAL WITH HER MENTAL HEALTH ISSUES. EXPERTS SAY THAT SUPPORT IS ONE OF THE MOST CRUCL IASTEPS TO HELPING PEOE PL STRUGGLING WITH MENTAL HEALTH. WE BELIEVE THERE SHOULD NOT BE A STIGMA ABOUT ASKING FOR HELP AND THAT EVERYONE SHOULD KNOW ABOUT HEALTH THAT IS AVAILABLE.
