Pittsburgh also waives four players, cutting roster to 85

The Pittsburgh Steelers made several moves to trim their roster to 85 players by Tuesday's deadline.Safety Karl Joseph (foot) and wide receiver Anthony Miller (shoulder) were placed on the reserve/injured list, ending both players' seasons.Four players were waived: defensive tackle Doug Costin, offensive tackle Jake Dixon, punter Cameron Nizialek and center Chris Owens.The team also made one roster addition by signing guard William Dunkle, an undrafted rookie free agent from San Diego State. Dunkle originally signed with the Philadelphia Eagles in May and was released in June.Pittsburgh's roster must be reduced to 80 players by 4 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 23, which will be followed by another round of cuts to meet the 53-player roster limit by Aug. 30.
