Pitt announced Wednesday that basketball player Dior Johnson returned to practice this week and is expected to redshirt for the 2022-23 season. Johnson had been suspended since being arrested earlier this year. The 18-year-old was accused of assaulting his girlfriend in October at his Oakland apartment. In December, Johnson pleaded guilty to misdemeanor simple assault and misdemeanor strangulation.He was sentenced to probation and must give up any guns he owns.
