>> BREAKING NEWS RIGHT NOW. IT WAS ONE WEEK AGO TODAY BUFFALO BILLS SAFETY DAMAR HAMLIN SUFFERED CARDIAC ARREST. HIS CONDITION HAS IMPROVED DRASTICALLY. WE TAKE YOU LIVE TO UC HEALTH MEDICAL CENTER. OF THOSE ARE THE DOCTORS WE HEARD FROM FOUR OR FIVE DAYS AGO. DR. WILLIAM KNIGHT AND DR. TIMOTHY. LET’S LISTEN IN RIGHT NOW. >> VISITING TEAM MEDICAL LIAISONS AND EMERGENCY MEDICAL SUPPORT GROUP INCLUDING ON-FIELD PARAMEDICS, MANAGEMENT PHYSICIANS AND RESPIRATORY THERAPISTS. DR. TIMOTHY CRIST IS A TRAUMA SURGEON AND SERVES AS A PROFESSOR IN THE DEPARTMENT OF SURGERY AT THE UNIVERSITY OF CINCINNATI COLLEGE OF MEDICINE AND DIVISION CHIEF OF GENERAL SURGERY. I WILL PASS THIS OVER TO THE PHYSICIANS TO SHARE AN UPDATE ON DAMAR’S MEDICAL CONDITION. AFTER THE UPDATE WE WILL HAVE ABOUT 10 MINUTES FOR Q&A WITH MEDIA. WHEN YOU ASK QUESTIONS STATE YOUR NAME AND ORGANIZATION BEFORE YOU POSE YOUR QUESTION. THANK YOU AND DR. KNIGHT. >> THANKS, KRISTIN. WE SHARED LAST TIME THE ULTIMATE GOAL WAS TO GET DAMAR BACK HOME TO HIS AMAZING FAMILY AND THE BROADER BUFFALO FAMILY. DR. PREECE AND I ARE THRILLED ON BEHALF TO SEE AND REPORT TO YOU DAMAR HAMLIN HAS BEEN RELEASED AND RETURNED TO BUFFALO. I TRAVELED WITH HIM TO THE AIRPORT THIS MORNING WITH OUR UC HEALTH AIR CARE CREW, INCLUDING TEAMMATES WHO WERE WITH US ON THE FIELD WHEN DAMAR HAMLIN COLLAPSED. HE LANDED SAFELY AND AS ANYONE WHO HAS GONE WHAT HE WENT THROUGH THIS WEEK, AND FLYING ON A PLANE, HE IS GOING TO BE OBSERVED TO MAKE SURE THERE ARE NO IMPACTS ON THE FLIGHT TO HIS CONDITION OR ON HIS LUNGS. WE HAVE SPOKEN EXTENSIVELY WITH HIS TEAM IN BUFFALO AND I CAN CONFIRM HE IS DOING WELL AND THIS IS THE BEGINNING OF THE NEXT STAGE OF HIS RECOVERY. AS KRISTIN NOTED, TIM AND I ARE REPRESENTING THE MANY INDIVIDUALS AND TEAMS WHO HAVE CARED FOR DAMAR OVER THE PAST WEEK. OUR EMS, EMERGENCY MEDICINE, TRAUMA SURGERY, CARDIOLOGY, CRITICAL CARE, NEURO-CRITICAL CARE, ALL OF OUR AMAZING NURSES, RESPIRATORY THERAPIST, PHYSICAL THERAPISTS, OCCUPATIONAL THERAPISTS, SPEECH THERAPISTS, PERFORMANCE IS, THERE ARE MANY PEOPLE WHO HAD A HAND -- PHARMACISTS, THERE ARE MANY PEOPLE WHO HAD A HAND IN HELPING DAMAR. SINCE OUR LAST UPDATE TO YOU, DAMAR HAMLIN HAS MET A NUMBER OF KEY MILESTONES ON THE ROAD TO RECOVERY. THE LAST TIME WE SPOKE, DAMAR WAS ON AND VENTILATOR. HE HAS BEEN EXCAVATED AND GONE THROUGH A WEANING. HE HAS BEEN UP AND IN PHYSICAL THERAPY WALKING, TOLERATING A REGULAR DIET, MEETING WITH HIS FAMILY AND MANY MEMBERS OF THE CARE TEAM WHO WANTED TO SEE HOW HE WAS DOING ALL TO GET HIM TO THE POINT HE COULD BE SAFELY RETURNED TO BUFFALO. AT THIS POINT WE ARE COMFORTABLE OPENING UP TO QUESTIONS. ANYTHING THAT ANYBODY MAY HAVE AT THIS POINT. THANK YOU ALL FOR YOUR WELL WISHES, NOT ONLY FOR DAMAR BUT OUR TEAM HERE AT UC MEDICAL. >> FROM THE BUFFALO NEWS, THANK YOU FOR THE UPDATE. I WASN’T EXPECTING SO MUCH GOOD NEWS SO SOON. MY QUESTIONS ARE A LITTLE DIFFERENT NOW. I WAS WONDERING IF YOU COULD TALK MORE ABOUT THE NEXT STEPS FOR DAMAR AT THIS POINT. WHAT HE NEEDS TO DO AND WHAT THAT OUTPATIENT CARE WILL LOOK LIKE. THANK YOU. >> NEITHER ARE WE, TO BE CANDID. WE CONTINUE TO BE ECSTATIC ABOUT HIS RECOVERY AND AS BILLY MENTIONED -- BILL MENTIONED AS WE STARTED ALL THIS, THE ONLY THING THAT MATTERED WAS GETTING THE PATIENT BACK TO HIS FAMILY AND HIS COMMUNITY. WE ANTICIPATE HE WILL UNDERGO ONGOING SERIES OF TESTS AND EVALUATIONS TO DETERMINE THE ETIOLOGY OF WHAT CAUSED THE ONSET ON MONDAY NIGHT. >> WITH THAT ONGOING TESTING WHAT DOES THAT TIMELINE LOOK LIKE AND WAS THERE ANYTHING YOU WERE ABLE TO RULE OUT FOR THE CAUSE OR IS IT TOO EARLY ON THAT? >> IT IS PREMATURE TO COMMENT ON THAT. THE FURTHER TIMELINE WHEN WE TURN IN BY HIM, MOST IMPORTANTLY, BUT ALSO BY THE EXPERTS IN THE HOSPITAL WHERE HE IS NOW. >> THANK YOU. >> HEY, GUYS. >> HI. >> I AM WITH W KC RTV IS HERE IN CINCINNATI. WILL HE GO TO ANOTHER REHAB FACILITY? IS THERE A STEP DOWN? DID YOU EVER HAVE TO COOL DOWN HIS BODY WHEN YOU BROUGHT HIM IN? IS THAT ONE OF THE REASONS YOU CREDIT TO HIM DOING SO WELL RIGHT NOW? >> I CANNOT SPEAK EXACTLY TO WHERE HE IS RIGHT NOW. HE HAS BEEN TRANSFERRED TO ANOTHER HOSPITAL. IN TERMS OF THOSE NEXT STEPS, WE ARE GOING TO DEFER TO THE VERY CAPABLE AND EXCELLENT HANDS THAT HE IS IN. AS FOR THE QUESTION, YOU REFERRED TO TARGETED TEMPERATURE MANAGEMENT, THE ANSWER IS YES. DAMAR WAS TARGETED -- WAS PLACED ON TARGETED TEMPERATURE PROTOCOL. WE HAD HIM UNDER FAIRLY AGGRESSIVE TEMPERATURE MANAGEMENT. >> DO YOU SEE HIM BACK ON THE FIELD THIS LIFETIME? DO YOU SEE LIMITATIONS TO HIS FUTURE? >> WE ARE IN THE SAME PLACE WE WERE IN THE LAST DISCUSSION. IT IS TOO PREMATURE TO DISCUSS. NOT ONLY FOOTBALL. WE ARE FOCUSED ON HIS DAY-TO-DAY RECOVERY. HE STILL HAS A LITTLE BIT OF A WAYS TO GO IN TERMS OF HIS ONGOING RECOVERY. WE ARE THRILLED WHERE HE IS TODAY. HE IS UP, WALKING AROUND. HE HAS AN AMAZING, GENUINE SENSE OF HUMOR. HIS FAMILY IS AMAZING AND WE ARE HAPPY HE IS WITH HIM -- HE IS WITH THEM. THAT IS IN THE FUTURE AND IT IS UP TO DAMAR AND A GREAT TEAM OF PHYSICIANS TO HELP HIM. >> WHAT DO YOU MEAN THERE IS STILL A WAYS TO GO? >> ONGOING RECOVERY. HE GOT ESCALATED THREE DAYS AGO. >> GREAT, THANKS, GUYS. >> HI, EVERYONE. COLEY HARVEY FROM ESPN. THIS IS NOT THE NEWS WE EXPECTED TO GET TODAY. YOUR STAFF SHOULD FEEL GOOD ABOUT ITS WORK. YOU SAID HE WAS WALKING AROUND THE UNIT. WHEN DID HE BEGIN WALKING? >> HE WALKED TO HIS FIRST LAP ON FRIDAY. THE BREATHING TUBE CAME OUT EARLY FRIDAY MORNING. HE IS CONTINUING TO MAKE GOOD PROGRESS AND WORK WITH PHYSICAL THERAPISTS AND HAD ASSISTED WALKS WITH THE NURSE ON FRIDAY. HE IS ON WHAT WE CONSIDER A NORMAL AND EVEN TO REJECTED -- AND EVEN ACCELERATED TRAJECTORY. HE IS MAKING GREAT PROGRESS. >> YOU SAID ACCELERATED TO NORMAL. WHAT DOES ACCELERATED LOOK LIKE? >> ANYTHING TO THE ONE SIDE OF NORMAL. NORMAL RECOVERY FROM SOMETHING LIKE THIS IT’S GOING TO BE MEASURED IN WEEKS TO MONTHS. HE HAS BEEN A LITTLE BIT AHEAD OF THAT AT EACH STAGE. >> ONE MORE FOR ME. WHAT DOES THAT RECOVERY PROCESS LOOK LIKE NEXT? WHAT ARE WE LOOKING AT HIM NEEDING TO DO SPECIFICALLY NEXT? >> THE GOAL FOR EVERY PATIENT WHO SUFFERED A SERIOUS ILLNESS OR INJURY IS TO HELP THEM RETURN AS CLOSE TO BASELINE AS POSSIBLE. WE ANTICIPATE HE WOULD HAVE LIKELY ONGOING NEEDS WHETHER IT IS THERAPY OR WORKING WITH DIFFERENT SPECIALISTS GETTING HIM CLOSE TO WHERE HE CAN BE. HE APPEARS TO BE NEUROLOGICALLY COMPLETELY INTACT. THERE IS NO REASON TO BELIEVE HE WON’T CONTINUE HIS PATH TO RECOVERY. I THINK WE ARE GETTING SOME FEEDBACK FROM YOU, SIR. >> GENTLEMEN, FIRST AND FOREMOST, AWESOME JOB THAT YOU TOO AND YOUR MEDICAL STAFF HAS DONE AT THE UNIVERSITY -- THE MEDICAL UNIVERSITY OF CINCINNATI. I AM FROM BUFFALO. EVERYONE FROM BUFFALO WITH THANK YOU GUYS A GREAT DEAL ON SUCH A REMARKABLE RECOVERY AS FAR AS DAMAR. AS FAR AS GOING BACK TO MONDAY, HIM NOT BREATHING, DO YOU THINK THERE WAS ANY TYPE OF CERVICAL SPINE INJURIES C1 AND C5? HOW IS HIS WALKING? IS HE WALKING NORMAL OR IS THAT A PART OF HIS REHAB PROCESS? >> HE DID NOT HAVE ANY CERVICAL SPINE INJURY. HIS WALKING, TWO WAYS TO LOOK AT THAT. ONE, HE WALKS NORMALLY. HE IS ADMITTEDLY A LITTLE WEAK. THAT IS NO SURPRISE AFTER WHAT HE WENT THROUGH. JUST REGAINING HIS STRENGTH IS A PART OF HIS RECOVERY PROCESS. >> OK, GUYS. GOD BLESS YOU. APPRECIATE YOUR TIME. >> THANKS. >> DOCTORS, HI. THIS IS JOHN BAR WITH ESPN. THE LAST OFFICIAL WORD WE HEARD FROM THE HOSPITAL WAS THAT DAMAR WAS IN THE INTENSIVE CARE UNIT. WAS HE IN THE ICU UP TO THE MOMENT OF HIS RELEASE OR DID HE TRANSITION TO SOMEWHERE ELSE? I UNDERSTAND THE PROGRESS HE MADE ON FRIDAY. I AM JUST WONDERING WHAT YOU SAW IN THE LAST 24 HOURS OR SO. WHAT HAD TO HAPPEN IN ORDER FOR YOU TO BE COMFORTABLE RELEASING HIM? >> THAT IS A GREAT QUESTION. TO ANSWER THE FIRST PART OF THAT, YES, HE WAS IN OUR SURGICAL INTENSIVE CARE UNIT UNTIL A TRANSFER. WE WANTED HIM TO REACH THE CRITERIA THAT ALLOWED US TO UPGRADE HIS CONDITION FROM CRITICAL TO EITHER FAIR OR GOOD. WHEN HE WAS ABLE TO MEET THOSE CRITERIA THIS MORNING, WE FELT IT WAS SAFE AND PROPER TO HELP GET HIM BACK TO THE GREATER BUFFALO AREA. >> CAN YOU GIVE US SOME CRITERIA -- CAN YOU GIVE US SOME IDEA WHAT THOSE CRITERIA ARE? >> HIS ORGANS ARE STABLE TO IMPROVING. HE NEEDS A MINIMAL AMOUNT OF INSISTENCE -- OF ASSISTANCE. WE HAVE SOME AWESOME NURSES WHO HAVE BEEN WITH HIM FROM THE BEGINNING. HE NO LONGER NEEDS THAT LEVEL OF NURSING CARE. NO LONGER NEEDS RESPIRATORY CARE FROM OUR RESPIRATORY CARE PRACTITIONERS. HE IS ABLE TO MOVE TO A SETTING WHERE HE WOULD HAVE LESS INTENSIVE CARE. >> ONE MORE IF I COULD INDULGE YOU. YOU DIDN’T SPEAK TO WHERE HE IS, COULD HE GO HOME? WOULD YOU BE COMFORTABLE IF YOU WERE HOME? >> OUR GOAL FOR EVERY PATIENT IS THAT THEY GET HOME. WE HAVE DEALT WITH CIRCUMSTANCES BEFORE WHERE WE TRANSFER PATIENTS TO THEIR HOME AREAS. FROM OUR STANDPOINT, THE BEST WAY TO DO THAT IS TO ARRANGE THE NEXT STEPS IN HIS RECOVERY AT A LOCAL HOSPITAL WHERE HE WILL SEE THE EXPERTS THERE, START TO TAKE HIS MEDICAL CARE FROM THEM AND MAKE A TRANSITION BACK TO HOME. >> GOTCHA. THANK YOU, GENTLEMEN. >> THIS IS TOM PUCKETT FROM BUFFALO RADIO. WHAT ARE THE STEPS YOU TOOK TO ENSURE DAMAR HAMLIN’S FLIGHT TO BUFFALO, HE COULD TAKE THAT FLIGHT TO BUFFALO AND WHAT ARE THE PREPARATIONS FOR PHYSICAL THERAPY AND NOW THAT HE IS OUT OF THE HOSPITAL? MAYBE THIS IS PREMATURE BUT A TIMETABLE FOR A POSSIBLE RETURN TO THE FIELD? >> WE WORKED PRETTY SEAMLESSLY WITH HIS CARE TEAM IN BUFFALO, BOTH THE BILLS AND HIS CARE TEAM. NOT ONLY JUST TO ARRANGE MEDICAL TRANSPORT, BUT OUR TEAM HERE, SURGICAL INTENSIVE AND TRAUMA TEAM TO DO EXACTLY WHAT TIM JUST DESCRIBED ABOUT MAKING SURE HE WAS READY AND APPROPRIATE TO MAKE THAT NEXT STEP. AS IT PERTAINS TO THE NEXT PHASE OF THERAPY, WE ARE NOT GOING TO BE INVOLVED IN THAT. I AM HESITANT TO COMMENT ON WHAT OTHER PHYSICIANS AND CARE TEAMS ARE GOING TO BE DOING. HE IS IN GREAT HANDS. THEY ARE GOING TO BE HELPING TO CREATE THAT PLAN OF WHAT HIS NEXT STEPS IN RECOVERY WILL BE. >> JUST TO CLARIFY, HE IS HOME IN BUFFALO, HE HAS NOT BEEN TRANSFERRED TO ANOTHER HOSPITAL? >> HE HAS BEEN TRANSFERRED TO ANOTHER HOSPITAL. >> THANK YOU. >> YES. >> HELLO, DOCTORS. WITH THE DAILY NEWS HERE IN WESTERN NEW YORK. THANKS FOR ALL YOU HAVE DONE. WERE YOU ABLE TO WATCH THE GAME ON SUNDAY? DID YOU HAVE ANY REACTION TO THE FANS AND THE LEAGUE THIS WEEK IN SUPPORT OF DAMAR AND THE STEPS TAKEN TO HONOR? >> THAT IS A GREAT QUESTION. WE HAD PERMISSION FROM HIM AND HIS FAMILY TO LET YOU KNOW HE WATCHED THE GAME ON SUNDAY. HE WAS BEYOND EXCITED AND FEELS VERY SUPPORTED BY THE OUTPOURING OF LOVE FROM ACROSS THE LEAGUE. ESPECIALLY FROM THE BUFFALO AREA. WE LEARNED THIS WEEK THE BILLS MAFIA IS A VERY REAL THING. WE ALL FEEL THE LOVE FROM YOU ALL IN WESTERN NEW YORK. HE WATCHED THE GAME YESTERDAY WHEN THE OPENING KICK OFF WAS RUN BACK, HE JUMPED OUT OF HIS CHAIR. SET EVERY ALARM OFF IN THE ICU IN THE PROCESS. HE WAS FINE, IT WAS INAPPROPRIATE REACTION TO VERY EXCITING PLAY. HE VERY MUCH ENJOYED IT. >> MOVING FORWARD, I KNOW PEOPLE HAVE ASKED ABOUT THE STEPS IN HIS RECOVERY, BUT IS THERE ANY SINCE YOU CAN GIVE US AS FAR AS HOW FAR AWAY HE IS TO RETURNING TO NORMAL LIFE? >> IT IS TOO PREMATURE TO SPECULATE WITH THAT. HE IS MAKING GREAT PROGRESS. HIS BRAIN AND NEUROLOGICAL FUNCTION IS REALLY NORMAL. RIGHT NOW IT IS JUST A YOUNG MAN RECOVERING FROM A VERY SERIOUS ILLNESS. WE THINK HE WILL RECOVER WELL FROM THIS. HE HAS A GREAT, POSITIVE ATTITUDE. HE ORIGINALLY ASKED WHO HAD WON. HIS ANSWER OUT OF THAT, WE ALL WON. HOPEFULLY EVERYONE WILL GO OUT AND GET TRAINED IN CPR SO THAT YOU TOO CAN SAVE A LIFE ONE DAY. AND EVERYBODY CAN WIN. WE AGREE WITH HIS SENTIMENT WE ALL WON FROM THIS. >> THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR YOUR SERVICE. I APPRECIATE YOUR TIME. >> ONE MORE QUESTION. >> WHAT YOU AND YOUR ENTIRE TEAM HAS DONE THROUGHOUT THE LAST SEVERAL DAYS, I KNOW YOU HAVE SAID WE ARE A LONG WAY OFF TO CONSIDER IF DAMAR WILL EVER BE PLAYING AGAIN. YOU SAID HE IS IN ANOTHER HOSPITAL RIGHT NOW, THE ANSWER TO THAT WOULD BE NO. THE BILLS STILL HAVE GAMES LEFT IN THE POSTSEASON. DAMAR HEDGED TWEETED ABOUT WANTING TO BE OUT THERE WITH HIS TEAM YESTERDAY. WHETHER IT IS ON THE FIELD ON THE SIDELINE, IN A BOX, IN CASE THE WEATHER WAS TOO INTENSE FOR HIS BODY RIGHT NOW, IS THERE ANY POSSIBILITY IN THE WEEKS AHEAD HE COULD BE HEALTHY ENOUGH TO BE IN ATTENDANCE AT A GAME TO SALUTE HIS TEAMMATES AND THE FANS? IS THAT SOMETHING WE COULD CONCEIVABLY SEE OR IS HE PRETTY MUCH GOING TO HAVE TO STAY-AT-HOME, INSIDE? >> WE ARE GOING TO DEFER THAT TO HIS CARE TEAM IN BUFFALO TO ASSESS THE AVAILABILITY OF THE NEXT STEP. IT IS SOMETHING WE WOULD ALL LOVE TO BE ABLE TO SEE, BUT STILL PREMATURE TO COMMENT ON TODAY. HE IS WITH A DIFFERENT CAROTENE NOW IN THEIR HANDS. WE ARE GOING TO DEFERRED THAT TO THEM THE NEXT STEPS TO BE WITH HIS TEAMMATES AND CHEER THEM ON. >> THANK YOU VERY MUCH FOR THE QUESTIONS YOU POSED TODAY. WE ARE REALLY GRATEFUL. BEFORE WE CLOSE, DR. KNIGHT, DR. PRINCE, IS THERE ANYTHING ELSE YOU WOULD LIKE TO SAY OR COMMENT ON BEFORE WE CLOSE TODAY? >> JUST TO SAY WE ARE MOSTLY GRATEFUL FOR HOW WELL DAMAR HAS DONE. HE HAS AN AMAZING FAMILY AND THEY HAVE BEEN WITH HIM AT HIS SIDE. MEMBERS OF THE BUFFALO BILLS ORGANIZATION HAVE BEEN WITH HIM AS WELL. WE FELT SUPPORT FROM EVERYBODY. PEOPLE KEEP ASKING WHAT THEY CAN DO. LEARN CPR. SUPPORT PUBLIC ACCESS TO DEFIBRILLATORS SO PEOPLE PRESENTED WITH SIMILAR CIRCUMSTANCES, THEY CAN HAVE AN OUTCOME IDEALLY AS GOOD AS HE HAS HAD UNDER THE CIRCUMSTANCES. IF YOU WANT TO WORK LOCALLY AND THANKED FOLKS, THANK PEOPLE AT YOUR LOCAL MEDICAL CENTERS, THE HARD-WORKING PEOPLE WHO DO THIS EVERYDAY. IT IS UNUSUAL FOR US ALL TO BE RECOGNIZED, BUT WE APPRECIATE IT. THE NURSES, PHARMACISTS, MEDICS, EVERYBODY HERE TAKES GREAT PRIDE IN THE WORK WE DO EVERY DAY. THANK THEM AND CONTINUE TO ENCOURAGE WHAT THEY DO. AND THEN IF YOU HAVE THE OPPORTUNITY TO SUPPORT THE GENERATION OF NEW SCIENCE AND RESEARCH, WE CAN MOVE THINGS FORWARD. 20 YEARS AGO, PUBLIC DEFIBRILLATION AND CPR WAS NOT NECESSARILY A COMMON THING. IN SCIENCE THERE IS HOPE. IT IS THE NEXT GENERATION OF SCIENCE THAT WILL CONTINUE TO MOVE MEDICAL CARE FORWARD. >> DR. KNIGHT, ANYTHING? >> WE HAD THE RIGHT PEOPLE, AT THE RIGHT PLACE, AT THE RIGHT TIME FOR DAMAR. WHAT TIM SAID, TRAINING AND GOOD QUALITY CPR AND HAVING THE ABILITY TO BRING THIS SAME TYPE OF OUTCOME, WE WOULDN’T NECESSARILY CALL THIS MIRACULOUS. IS IT REMARKABLE? ABSOLUTELY. IT IS TEXTBOOK ON BEHALF OF OUR TEAM THAT ALLOWED DAMAR TO HAVE AN EXPECTED OUTCOME WHEN ONE HAS IMMEDIATE CPR. WE CANNOT CREDIT THE TEAM APPROACH, THE BILLS, THE FAMILY BEING ABLE TO CELEBRATE THE MOST AWESOME -- AND OUR HOSPITAL IN A LONG TIME. >> THANK YOU SO MUCH. WE ARE SO THRILLED DAMAR IS BACK IN BUFFALO TO CONTINUE HIS RECOVERY. A HUGE THANK YOU TO THE HAMLIN FAMILY, THE BUFFALO BILLS FOR THEIR ON RAISING -- TO THEIR AMAZING PARTNERSHIP, THE HEALTH CARE, TRANSPORTERS AND OUR EXTENSIVE CARE TEAMS. AND MOST IMPORTANTLY TO DAMAR FOR INSPIRING ALL OF US. AS THE BILLS SET ON FRIDAY, THE AMOUNT OF FAITH, HOPE AND LOVE WE HAVE SEEN OVER THIS PAST WEEK HAS BEEN UNBELIEVABLE AND AMAZING. WE ALSO WANT TO THANK THE MEDIA FOR YOUR RESPECT OF THE FAMILY AND THEIR PRIVACY AND SO THOUGHTFULLY HANDLING THIS SITUATION WITH US AND EVERYONE INVOLVED. WE WILL CLOSE BY SAYING, DAMAR SAID IT BEST, WE ALL WON. THANK YOU. >> YOU HAVE BEEN LISTENING TO THAT LIVE NEWS CONFERENCE AT UC MEDICAL CENTER. DOCTORS WILLIAM KNIGHT AND TIMOTHY PRINCE DELIVERING AMAZING NEWS A SHORT TIME AGO. THAT MAN RIGHT THERE ON YOUR SCREEN, BILLS SAFETY DAMAR HAMLIN RELEASED FROM THIS HOSPITAL UC MEDICAL CENTER, FLOWN BACK TO BUFFALO THIS MORNING. HE IS BACK WITH FAMILY AND FRIENDS BUT IN ANOTHER HOSPITAL IN THE BUFFALO AREA. HIS CONDITION HAS VASTLY IMPROVED. IT IS HARD TO BELIEVE IT WAS ONE WEEK AGO TODAY HE HAD TO BE RESUSCITATED A FEW TIMES AFTER SUFFERING CARDIAC ARREST ON THE FOOTBALL FIELD LATE IN THE FIRST QUARTER OF THAT MONDAY NIGHT FOOTBALL FIELD AGAINST THE CINCINNATI BENGALS.
