Mad Mex in Pittsburgh's Oakland neighborhood closing after three decades

A local restaurant is closing its doors.Mad Mex in Oakland will be closing up shop after 30 years.According to the restaurant's Facebook page, ongoing staffing and operational challenges are to blame. Management thanked customers for the "good times" shared on Atwood Street over the last three decades.Customers said they are disappointed the Oakland location has shut down.Leslie Gordan is a regular customer. Bright and early on Wednesday, the pregnant woman had a craving for tacos and discovered it was closed.She said, "I'm with child. Oh my goodness. I'm 10 weeks and I'm hungry and my mind keeps telling me tacos and I don't know where to go."The company said workers in Oakland have been offered jobs at other locations.
