WELL, BECAUSE OF THIS TRAIN DERAILMENT IN OHIO, MANY ROADS IN PENNSYLVANIA ARE NOW CLOSED UNTIL FURTHER NOTICE. WE GOT THAT UPDATE FROM PENNDOT TODAY. SO HERE’S A LOOK AT THE MAP OF PITTSBURGH RIGHT IN THE MIDDLE, YOU CAN SEE THE CITY, THE AREA WE’RE TALKING ABOUT IS NORTHERN BEAVER COUNTY. SO IF YOU LIVE, WORK, DRIVE THROUGH BEAVER COUNTY, YOU’RE GOING TO WANT TO LISTEN UP TO THIS. THE MAIN THING YOU NEED TO KNOW IS THAT ROUTE 51 ALL THE WAY FROM ROUTE 168 TO THE OHIO BORDER, IS CLOSED IN BOTH DIRECTIONS. AND THEN TAKE A LOOK ON YOUR SCREEN. HERE’S A MAP SHOWING YOU THE OTHER ROADS THAT ARE CLOSED. THESE ROADS BRANCH OFF OF ROUTE 51. THEY INCLUDE, ANDERSON, LITTLE BEAVER, TAGGART VALLEY, LOG TOWN, ENON, EAST PALESTINE, DARLINGTON, OAKDALE AVENUE DRIVE AND CARROLLTON ROAD. SO SINCE THAT BIG STRETCH OF ROAD 51 LEADING TO THE OHIO BORDER, IT’S CLOSED. YOU’RE GOING TO BE USING NORTHBOUND ROUTE 168 TO DETOUR AROUND THIS AT THE CLOSURE POINT HERE. YOU’RE GOING TO TURN RIGHT ONTO 168 AND THEN MAKE A LEFT ONTO ROUTE 551. YOU’RE GOING TO FOLLOW THAT NORTH. KEEP GOING NORTH. KEEP GOING NORTH UNTIL YOU GET TO THE INTERSECTION WITH ROUTE 351. THERE YOU’RE GOING TO BEAR LEFT. FOLLOW 351 INTO OHIO. AND AS SOON AS WE KNOW WHEN THESE ROADS WILL REOPEN, WE’LL LET YOU KNOW.

As the situation in East Palestine, Ohio, worsened late Sunday night, fears of an explosion led to mandatory evacuations for residents within a mile radius of the train derailment site. That includes Darlington Township in Beaver County.PennDOT announced a list of roadway closures and detours due to the developing situation. The following roadways will be closed until further notice:Route 51 between Route 168 and Ohio Anderson Road at Route 51 Little Beaver Road at Route 51 Taggert Road at Route 51 Valley Road at Taggert Road Logtown Road at Route 51 Enon Road at Route 51 East Palestine Road at Route 51 Darlington Road at Route 51 Oakdale Road at Route 51 Agnew Drive at Route 51 Cannellton Road at Route 51 Route 168 – All traffic will take northbound Route 168Posted Detour for Northbound Route 51From northbound Route 51, turn right onto Route 168 Turn left onto Route 551 Bear left onto Route 351 Follow Route 351 into Ohio (Route 617) Turn left onto Route 170 in Ohio Follow Route 170 back to Route 14 End detour

  • Route 51 between Route 168 and Ohio
  • Anderson Road at Route 51
  • Little Beaver Road at Route 51
  • Taggert Road at Route 51
  • Valley Road at Taggert Road
  • Logtown Road at Route 51
  • Enon Road at Route 51
  • East Palestine Road at Route 51
  • Darlington Road at Route 51
  • Oakdale Road at Route 51
  • Agnew Drive at Route 51
  • Cannellton Road at Route 51
  • Route 168 – All traffic will take northbound Route 168

Posted Detour for Northbound Route 51

  • From northbound Route 51, turn right onto Route 168
  • Turn left onto Route 551
  • Bear left onto Route 351
  • Follow Route 351 into Ohio (Route 617)
  • Turn left onto Route 170 in Ohio
  • Follow Route 170 back to Route 14
  • End detour
