National Pizza Day: Pittsburghers share their favorite pizza places and toppings
RIGHT. CAITLIN THANK YOU. SO WHETHER YOU LIKE IT PLAIN OR WITH PEPPERONI, THIN CRUST OR DEEP DISH SQUARE OR TRIANGLE NATIONAL PIZZA DAY IS FOR EVERYONE. AND TODAY IS THAT DAY. THE NATION’S FIRST PIZZERIA IS BELIEVED TO BE LOMBARDI’S IN NEW YORK CITY, ESTABLISHED. IN 1905. YEP. THIS IS HOW WE ALL CELEBRATED TODAY IN THE NEWSROOM. WE STOPPED OVER AT ROCKAWAY PIZZA, RAYA IN WHITE OAK FOR ABOUT FIVE PIE PIES. AND I HERE THEY WERE DELICIOUS, BECAUSE WHEN I GOT BACK TO THE NEWSROOM TODAY, THEY WERE GONE. THIS IS THE FIRST I’M HEARING ABOUT THIS, TOO. WE’RE VERY UNHAPPY. AND OUR PRODUCER, ERIC, WHO WE’RE NOT UNHAPPY WITH, WANT TO KNOW WHAT OUR FAVORITE PIZZA PLACE WAS AND WHAT WE’D LIKE TO GET ON OUR PIZZA. SO I KNOW IT’S KIND OF DANGEROUS. I’M GOING TO SAY FOR ME, IT’S MANY O’S. I LOVE THE SAUSAGE, THE PEPPERONI AND ALL THAT CHEESE. IT’S FUNNY THAT YOU SAY THAT BECAUSE I’M IN TEAM AIELLO’S REALLY CLOSE TO THERE, BUT I LIKE EVERYTHING. EVERY VEGETABLE, EVERY EVERYTHING. YEAH. SEPARATE ANCHOVY. ALL RIGHT, WELL, I’M GOING TO HAVE TO JUMP INTO THIS AS WELL. MY FAVORITE PIZZA PLACE, IT’S UP NORTH AND SEVEN FIELDS IS LUCIANO. PEPPERONI, SAUSAGE, ONION. IT’S A SIMPLE PIZZA FOR A SIMPLE MAN. AND HERE’S SOME OTHER PIZZA LOVERS. WHAT THEY HAD TO SAY. I’M LIKE A SAUSAGE AND PEPPERS KIND OF GIRL. MY LOVE TO HAVE GROUND BEEF AND FRESH TOMATO AND BACON. BECAUSE BACON MAKES EVERYTHING BETTER. MUSHROOMS, ONE ONIONS, PEPPERS. ALL RIGHT. VERY NICE. SO WE WANT TO KNOW WHERE YOU LIKE TO GO TO GET A SLICE OR MAYBE A WHOLE PIE. GO TO OUR FACEBOOK PAGE AND LET US KNOW. DON’T FORGET T
