PITTSBURGH’S ACTION NEWS 4. ASHLEY, THANK YOU. WELL, IN WESTMORELAND AND FAYETTE COUNTY, THOUSANDS OF HOMES STILL WITHOUT POWER TONIGHT FROM FRIDAY’S STORMSAND MANY OF THEM COULD BE IN THE DARK UNTIL TOMORROW. DAN ARNOLD LIVES IN UNION TOWN, FAYETTE COUNTY, AND HE SAYS THE STORM WAS THE WORST HE’S SEEN IN MORE THAN 20 YEARS. TREES ARE DOWN, POWER IS OUT AND CLEANUP WILL BE LENGTHY. WE WENT ON THE BEACH VACATION ONE TIME AND DROVE DOWN ROUTE 30 TO THE ANNAPOLIS AFTER A HURRICANE. AND WE WENT THROUGH A SWATH THAT WAS JUST COMPLETELY GONE. AND WHEN I LOOK AT THIS, THAT’S WHAT IT REMINDS ME OF. IT’S JUST THIS IS JUST LITERALLY AMAZING THAT THIS GOT KNOCKED DOWN LIKE IT DID. DAN’S HOME AND GARAGE WERE UNTOUCHED BY THE WINDS, BUT A BIG TREE FELL AND BLOCKED HIS DRIVEWAY. HE SAYS HE CLOCKED THE WINDS COMING OFF THE MOUNTAIN AT MORE THAN 60 MILES AN HOUR. WESTERN POWER SAYS ITS CREWS ARE WORKING 16 HOUR SHIFTS TO RESTORE SERVICE. SOME ROADS ARE STILL IN PASSABLE BECAUSE OF DOWNED TREES AND LINES. RIGHT NOW IN WESTMORELAND COUNTY, THERE ARE 30 TO 100 CUSTOMERS STILL WITHOUT POWER, MOST IN LIGONIER AND DONEGAL TOWNSHIP AND FAYETTE COUNTY, A 1700 OUTAGES REPORTED RIGHT NOW. THAT’S DOWN FROM MORE THAN 12,000 SATURDAY. BOLESKINE TOWNSHIP AND CONNERSVILLE REMAIN THE HARDEST HIT AREAS IN THAT COUNTY AND THE DERRY TOWNSHIP FIRE COMPANY AND BRAID ANVIL HAS SET UP A WARMING STATION FOR ANYONE STILL WITHOUT POWER IN THAT AREA. THE STATION IS ON SCHOOL STREET, SO ANYBODY WHO NEEDS A PLACE TO STAY WARM OR NEEDS TO POWER UP

Powerful wind gusts moved through western Pennsylvania on Friday night, blowing down wires and trees and causing damage and widespread power outages.See the damage in Fayette County: Click the video player above.As of 6:30 p.m. Sunday, West Penn Power was reporting over 1,000 customers without power in Fayette County and over 2,500 in Westmoreland County. West Penn said work was underway to restore power to the hardest-hit areas of Latrobe, Uniontown and Pleasant Valley, but outages in these areas "will extend into late Monday."In South Connellsville, a piece of a roof was ripped off a house on Hyndman Street. Similar damage was reported at multiple homes, Fire Capt. Chris Parrill said.Wind gusts were estimated at over 50 mph in the area.     PennDOT issued a warning Sunday morning for motorists, saying these roads were closed due to downed trees and power lines:

    Fayette County:
