After a school shooting occurs, communities take stock of what signs were missed, what protocols were or were not followed, what difference could mental health support have made. In this episode of Clarified, we use Oxford High School as a starting point to these important questions. In November 2021, a student shot and killed four students at Oxford High School. Six students and one teacher were also injured. Let's take a look at the events leading up to and proceeding this tragedy. On the morning of Nov. 30, 2021, an Oxford student exhibited troubling signs. He was seen researching bullets online, creating disturbing drawings, watching shooting videos, and even left a dead bird head in the bathroom.After seeing these red flags, the student, his family, school counselors and administrators met, but his parents refused to take him home, and he was allowed to stay at school.
