WITH LOWS BELOW FREEZING. BRIAN, THANKS. A VERY SPECIAL DAY AT THE WESTERN PENNSYLVANIA SCHOOL FOR THE DEAF. AS WE WRAP UP, READING ACROSS AMERICA WEEK TODAY, STUDENTS GOT THE CHANCE TO READ TO READING DOGS. THE DOGS ARE TRAINED TO SIT WITH THE STUDENTS AND LISTEN TO THE BOOK AS WELL AS LOOK AT THE PICTURES IN THE BOOK TO HELP GIVE STUDENTS THE CONFIDENCE THEY NEED TO READ MORE FLUENTLY. THE MIDDLE SCHOOL TEACHER BEHIND THIS SPECIAL READING DAY DID THIS IN HONOR OF HER MOTHER YEARS AGO. MY MOM WAS A SPECIAL ED TEACHER AND WHEN SHE PASSED, MY SISTER AND I ALWAYS WANTED TO HONOR HER. AND ONE OF THOSE WAS WITH READING DOGS. SHE ALWAYS BROUGHT THEM TO HER SCHOOL. AND IT’S SOMETHING I WANTED TO DO IN HONOR OF HER FOR MY OWN STUDENTS. AND THEY’RE HERE TODAY. SO WE’RE VERY EXCITED. AND WHAT A BEAUTIFUL TRIBUTE. THE DOGS TAKING PART IN TODAY’S EVENT WERE FROM BOTH ANIMAL
