University of Pittsburgh athletic director Heather Lyke has been named a winner of the Cushman & Wakefield Athletics Director of the Year award.
Lyke is one of four honorees from NCAA FBS schools, along with Mark Harlan of Utah, Jamie Pollard of Iowa State and Gene Taylor of Kansas State.
The award "recognizes athletics directors who have shown administrative excellence within the campus and/or college community environment over the course of the last year," according to the website of the National Association of Collegiate Directors of Athletics.
Lyke is finishing her sixth year at Pitt where the men's basketball program just returned to the NCAA Tournament for the first time since 2016 and Nino Bonaccorsi brought home Pitt's first national wrestling championship in 15 years.
Last season saw Pitt volleyball advancing to the Final Four of the NCAA Tournament, women's soccer making its first NCAA Tournament appearance and the football team defeating UCLA in the Sun Bowl and finishing with a Top 25 ranking.
