THIS IS A DOUBLE DUTY EDITORIAL SPEAKING ON BEHALF OF THE EDITORIAL BOARD. HE’S CHARLES W. WOLFERTZ III PRESIDENT AND GENERAL MANAGER OF WTAE. TUESDAY, MAY 16TH IS OUR PRIMARY ELECTION DAY IN PENNSYLVANIA. YOUR VOTE WILL MAKE A DIFFERENCE IN DECIDING WHO WILL BE ON THE BALLOT IN THE NOVEMBER GENERAL ELECTION. MAY 1ST IS THE DEADLINE TO REGISTER TO VOTE. TO BE ELIGIBLE TO VOTE IN THE MAY 16TH PRIMARY, AN INDIVIDUAL MUST BE A CITIZEN OF THE UNITED STATES FOR AT LEAST ONE MONTH BEFORE THE PRIMARY. A RESIDENT OF PENNSYLVANIA AND THE ELECTION DISTRICT IN WHICH THE INDIVIDUAL PLANS TO REGISTER AND VOTE FOR AT LEAST 30 DAYS BEFORE THE PRIMARY AND BE AT LEAST 18 YEARS OF AGE ON OR BEFORE THE DATE OF THE PRIMARY. THE 2023 PRIMARY OFFERS VOTERS OPPORTUNITIES TO VOTE FOR OFFICES LIKE COUNTY CHIEF EXECUTIVE AND COUNTY CONTROLLER TO DISTRICT ATTORNEY AND A JUDGE OF THE COURT OF COMMON PLEAS. AS VOTERS, WE HAVE THE OPPORTUNITY TO SHAPE WHO WILL MAKE DECISIONS LOCALLY THAT WILL AFFECT OUR EVERYDAY LIVES. THE FIRST STEP TO PARTICIPATE YOU MUST REGISTER TO VOTE TO REGISTER, VISIT VOTES PAYCOM. WE BELIEVE MORE PARTICIPATION MAKES FOR A STRONGER COMMUNITY. WTAE WELCOME
