Police investigating body found in Moon Township
Allegheny County police said they are investigating the death of a man whose body was found in a Moon Township drainage tunnel Wednesday night.
County police said Moon police were called to Fern Hollow Road for a domestic disturbance at about 1:30 a.m. They said the victim's ex-boyfriend was no longer at the home when officers arrived. Police said the man returned shortly before 3:45 a.m. and left the area when he saw a police car.
"The preliminary investigation shows that the suspect fled from his vehicle into a wooded area. As he ran through the wooded area it appears that the male fell from a small cliff. He was then able to make his way into the sewer tunnel where he was found deceased by Moon Township Police," county police said in their statement.
The medical examiner's office said Panayioti R. Rauseo, 35, of Moon, died at the scene between Stoops Ferry Road and the Sewickley Bridge.
Police said the body was found at about 9 p.m.
The cause and manner of death have not been determined.
