Giant Eagle announces 'price lock' on hundreds of items, relaunches weekly ad mailings
Giant Eagle says a price reduction on hundreds of items at Giant Eagle, Market District and GetGo stores will start this week.The list of 800 items will include "a wide variety of seasonally relevant national brands as well as meat, seafood, produce and dairy staples plus prepared meals and health and wellness products from the Giant Eagle brand," according to the announcement Tuesday."Beginning May 4 through August 9, the 'Price Lock' will reduce and control prices on these items by an average of nearly 20 percent," Giant Eagle said in the statement.The move comes as Giant Eagle relaunches direct delivery of a weekly circular to local homes in the mail beginning Tuesday.The new printed version of the weekly ad will be two pages, with a QR code that can be scanned to see more on-sale items at Giant Eagle's website, the grocery chain said.
