Steelers release cornerback Arthur Maulet

Steelers cornerback Arthur Maulet has been released, the team announced Wednesday.ESPN reported that the 29-year-old Maulet had requested his release.Maulet played in 33 games, starting eight of them, during his two seasons with the Steelers. Last year, he had 59 tackles, two sacks and one interception.Maulet posted "Thank You Pittsburgh" on his Instagram Wednesday.Pittsburgh has been stocking up on cornerbacks lately, selecting Joey Porter Jr. and Cory Trice Jr. in the NFL draft and signing former Vikings Chandon Sullivan and Patrick Peterson in free agency.
