THIS. STATE POLICE WANT MORE INFORMATION. YEAH, THAT’S RIGHT. THIS IS AN ODD CASE. WE’RE TOLD THAT THIS IS THE ONLY ONE OF THESE PLACARDS THAT WAS TARGETED IN THIS AREA. STATE POLICE WANT TO KNOW WHY AND HOPEFULLY GET THIS MONUMENT BACK FOR THIS LOCAL FAMILY. GRAVEL NOW FILLS THE SPOT AT THE BASE OF LOUIS COLEMAN’S GRAVESITE, WHERE A WORLD WAR TWO MEMORIAL PLACARD ONCE SAT. STATE POLICE SAY THE MEMORIAL WENT MISSING EARLIER THIS MONTH. THE PLACARD CONTAINED HIS NAME, RANK AND THAT HE WAS A WORLD WAR II VETERAN. THE BRONZE PLAQUE SIMILAR TO THIS ONE ARE SCATTERED THROUGHOUT THE SAINT FRANCIS CEMETERY IN THE VILLAGE OF GLEN EASTON IN INDIANA COUNTY. THE BRONZE PLAQUES ARE ATTACHED TO A FEW INCHES OF CONCRETE, SO REMOVING THEM ISN’T EASY. AND WE’RE TOLD COLEMAN’S IS THE ONLY SITE TARGETED. SO IT SHOULD STAND OUT TO ANYONE WHO WOULD SEE THIS AND THEY SHOULD CONTACT THE POLICE. AS FAR AS WHY THIS SPECIFIC PLAQUE WAS TARGETED AND WHAT THE VALUE OF IT IS. WELL, THOSE ARE QUESTIONS STATE POLICE ARE HOPING TO ANSWER. IN THE MEANTIME, THEY SAY IT’S ABOUT DOING WHAT THEY CAN TO HELP THE FAMILY OF A LOVED ONE THAT DID HIS PART FOR HIS COUNTRY. WE RESPECT OUR VETERANS. WHEN SOMETHING LIKE THIS HAPPENS, IT’S VERY SAD. THIS OBVIOUSLY SUCH A PERSONAL ITEM FOR THE FAMILY. THEY’RE PROVIDED BY THE US DEPARTMENT OF VETERANS AFFAIRS. SO IF YOU HAVE ANY INFORMATION ON WHAT HAPPENED THERE, GIVE STATE POLICE A CALL. RE
