New research says Pennsylvania is close to the top of the list when it comes to romance in America. East Coast states dominated the list, according to jewelry maker Mark Broumand. The company analyzed Google search data over the last year looking at various search terms "engagement rings," "romantic getaways," "florists near me," and "romantic restaurants."The results were then compared against the population of each state. The Keystone State ranks No. 5 on the list. According to Mark Broumand's research, Pennsylvanians searched for romantic terms 952 times per 100,000 residents. The top searches were "engagement rings" and "florists near me." "Wedding venues near me" came in third, suggesting residents hoped to plan a celebration in Pennsylvania.“It’s interesting to note that the vast majority of these states are situated in the east," a spokesperson said. The remaining states in the top five are Massachusetts, New York, Delaware and at No. 1: New Jersey.
