AROUND THE FERN HOLLOW BRIDGE REOPENED PARTIALLY BACK IN DECEMBER, LESS THAN A YEAR AFTER COLLAPSING. HOWEVER, CREWS NOW HAVE MORE WORK TO DO AND UNFORTUNATE THAT DOES MEAN A FULL CLOSURE OF THE BRIDGE FOR ONE MONTH THAT IS STARTING THIS COMING MONDAY UNTIL FRIDAY, JULY 7TH. THIS IS AROUND THE CLOCK CLOSURE. CREWS STILL HAVE TO TAKE CARE OF FINAL MILLING, PAVING PAVEMENT MARKINGS. THEY’LL ALSO BE MAKING SOME ENHANCEMENTS TO THE SIDEWALK, AS WELL AS INSTALLING A POLYESTER CONCRETE OVERLAY ON THE DECK BRIDGE THAT’S MEANT TO EXTEND END THE LIFE OF THE BRIDGE. IN THE MEANTIME, FOR THE NEXT MONTH, DRIVERS WILL HAVE TO FOLLOW THE POSTED DETOUR ROUTE, WHICH USES SOUTH DALLAS, PENN AND SOUTH BRADDOCK AVENUES TO GO AHEAD AND GET AROUND THIS CLOSURE.
