The preliminary hearing for the man accused of stealing Kenny Pickett's car was pushed back Monday morning.
Christopher Carter, 60, went before District Judge Jeffrey Herbst requesting more time to get an attorney.
Pittsburgh's Action News 4 obtained the court paperwork last month for Carter, who was arrested in the May 24 theft. Pickett had been participating in a local event when the SUV, a 2023 Genesis, was stolen.
The Steelers have told Pittsburgh's Action News 4 that a playbook was left in the stolen SUV. That playbook has since been recovered.
Last week, Carter failed to show up for a hearing, leading to a bench warrant.
The judge granted a continuance Monday, now pushing the preliminary hearing to June 26.
Carter declined to comment to Pittsburgh's Action News 4 outside court.
