The Stanley Cup was brought back to Pittsburgh for the first time in 17 years. It was the first time since the team's incredible. Back to back Stanley Cup wins in the early nineties. We don't want to stop at one. We want to go for more back to 2016. This week marks the anniversaries of three Penguins Stanley Cup victory parades, after three remarkable championship wins by the team.On June 15, 2009, the Penguins brought the Stanley Cup home for the first time in 17 years, securing the third championship in franchise history.At the victory parade of 2009, almost 400,000 Pens fans lined up along the streets of downtown Pittsburgh to celebrate the team and show their support. The team's captain, Sidney Crosby, gave a heartfelt speech to fans, reminding them that they deserved to be called the city of champions and that they'd continue striving for another win."What can I say? The support you've given us, the loyalty you've shown. You deserve to be called the city of champions. Today is better than any dream. Thank you for all of your support. We don't want to stop at one, we want to go for one more," Crosby said.Flash forward to June 15, 2016, when another huge crowd took to the streets to celebrate the Penguins for their fourth Stanley Cup victory.And the year after that, a record-breaking crowd came out on June 14, 2017, to cheer the team again and celebrate back-to-back Stanley Cup championships. This was the second back-to-back Stanley Cup championship run for the Pens. They repeated as champs in the 1991 and 1992 season.
