Get ready for Swifties to swarm Pittsburgh this weekend as Taylor Swift brings her tour to Acrisure Stadium for two nights.
Like both of Swift's concerts in the Steel City, most hotels and Airbnbs are sold out.
The city is preparing for as many as 100,000 fans to come to the North Shore.
“Most of our plans for every weekend entail us getting into the city as much and as often as possible, and this weekend will be very different. We are not going to spend any money on Ubers to get here, and we are going to go the opposite direction,” Ben Brilmyer said.
While some plan to get out of dodge, thousands of people are getting ready for The Eras Tour.
Whether it's an Airbnb or hotel, finding a place to stay is nearly impossible. Just ask Dennis Vodzak.
“We were waiting for the dates to come out so that we could look at our business with Airbnb, and look at pricing and availability, so when the dates did come out, it was like a frenzy," Vodzak said. "All four suites booked up really, really fast, and then I kept getting more inquiries about it, and I think if I had 100 rooms, since we are only a 10-minute walk from Acrisure Stadium, that I could book all 100 rooms."
Vodzak rents out The Historic Day House in the Mexican War Streets.
While his price for a suite — less than $200 — was a steal, Pittsburgh’s Action News 4 found other Airbnb hosts renting out their rooms and houses for hundreds of dollars a night.
“I think that could be a little ridiculous. I think people get scared away, but I am happy with what I am doing with it,” Vodzak said.
As for hotels, it's nearly impossible to find a room in the city.
Due to last-minute cancellations, The Landing Hotel at Rivers Casino said they have some limited availability.
As of Tuesday afternoon, the Omni William Penn Hotel also had rooms left. The cheapest was more than $1,200 a night.
"She is so popular, Taylor Swift, that people want to get there as quick as they can. We know what the price of the tickets went up to, so people just want to get there,” Vodzak said.
“Very happy that people are coming into our city, and visiting our local businesses, but we are going to stay in the outskirts where we live,” Jen Brilmyer said.
