In the last year alone, Pittsburgh's homeless population has increased by 24%. The number of unsheltered homeless individuals who live in encampments or on the city's streets, has increased by 50%. Economic hardship, the struggle of rehabilitation after incarceration, drug addiction, and domestic abuse, are a few among other circumstances that may cause people to enter a state of distress and become homeless.Pittsburgh Action News 4 reporter Sheldon Ingram explores city encampments and the circumstances that leads many Pittsburghers to become homeless.
