WHAT CAUSED THIS CRASH. THIS AFTERNOON, WE KNOW THE NAME OF THE MAN WHOSE BODY WAS FOUND IN THE ALLEGHENY RIVER ON MONDAY. THE MEDICAL EXAMINER IDENTIFIES HIM AS 67 YEAR OLD CHARLES PALERMO FROM PITTSBURGH’S TROY HILL NEIGHBORHOOD. POLICE SAY A BOATER SAW PALERMO’S BODY NEAR THE SOUTHERN TIP OF WASHINGTON’S LANDING AND CALLED 911. RIVER RESCUE PULLED THE BODY FROM THE WATER.

A body was recovered from the Allegheny River Monday morning, authorities said.Police say a boater saw the body in the water near the southern tip of Washington's Landing and called 911. River Rescue pulled the body from the water.Police say the body is that of a middle-aged white man. The medical examiner identified the man Tuesday as 67-year-old Charles Palermo. The cause and manner of death will be determined.Police are continuing to investigate. A body was recovered from the Allegheny River Monday morning, authorities said.
