The Pirates on Thursday unveiled their City Connect jerseys. The Bucs are set to wear them for the first time against the San Diego Padres on June 27 at PNC Park.

The design pays homage to the city's past and looks ahead to the future.
The custom geometric graphic across the top of the jersey takes elements from the steel industry, Pittsburgh's three rivers and the city's flag. The phrase "we bleed black and gold" is embedded above the jersey's jock tag.
“We believe this uniform collaboration with Nike represents what being from Pittsburgh is all about,” Pirates President Travis Williams said in a statement. “From a distance, a Pittsburgher is strong, sturdy, quiet, friendly and never showy or overstated. However, get to know someone from the city and you learn that there’s more to them than meets the eye, but you would never guess until you get close to them.”
The jerseys are for sale online now for fans wanting to get one for themselves.
The Pirates will wear the uniforms seven times this season.
