Special recognition this week for a popular Pittsburgh company.TIME magazine has named Duolingo among the most influential companies of 2023.The company, headquartered in the city's East Liberty neighborhood, launched its language-learning site and app in 2012. TIME cited Duolingo's innovative use of artificial intelligence in its write-up on the company's influence.According to TIME, daily active Duolingo users grew 62% in the first quarter of 2023 compared to the year prior. Duolingo is ranked as the top-grossing education app in the Apple and Google Play stores.
