WEBVTT THE JUDGE HANDED HIM AN ARREST WARRANT. JACKIE SCHAFER WAS THERE. Reporter: BELL HAD TO UNDERGO AN ON THE SPOT DRUG AND ALCOHOL EVALUATION BEFORE THE HEARING COULD MOVE FORWARD TODAY. HIS ATTORNEY TELLS US HE FULLY UNDERSTANDS WHAT HE DID WRONG, WHAT'S AT STAKE AN HE SAYS HE'S SORRY FOR IT. BELL WAS QUIET AS HE AND THE LEGAL TEAM ENTERED THE COURTROOM. HE WAVED THE RIGHT FOR A PRELIMINARY HEARING AFTER HE AND A TEAMMATE WERE PULLED OVER AND CHARGED IN AUGUST. DRUNK DRIVING AND POSSESSION OF A SMALL AMOUNT OF MARIJUANA THAT WAS FOUND IN THE VEHICLE. BELL'S ATTORNEY INSISTS HE'S COMPLYING WITH THE DRUG AND ALCOHOL PROGRAM OF THE NFL. VERY STRUCTURED PROGRAM AND REQUIRES AT A MINIMUM A WEEKLY URINE ANALYSIS. THEY CAN DO IT RANDOMLY AFTER THAT AND THEY'RE VERY STRICT. Reporter: IF BELL IS CONVICTED OF THE DUI HE COULD FACE A TWO-GAME SUSPENSION UNDER THE NFL'S POLICY. IT'S NOT CLEAR WHETHER HE COULD FACE ADDITIONAL SANCTIONS BY THE LEAGUE OR THE STEELERS. I THINK HE UNDERSTANDS PAINFULLY THAT HE WILL SUFFER LEGAL CONSEQUENCES AND THAT THERE WILL BE AN ADMINISTRATIVE SANCTION IN ALL PROBABILITY IN THE OFFING AND DEDICATED TO BECOMING A BETTER PERSON. Reporter: THE STEELERS CHOSE NOT TO SUSPEND EITHER PLAYER AFTER THE ARRESTS. JUST ONE DAY BEFORE A GAME IN PHILADELPHIA. IN ADDITION TO THE DRUG CHARGES, A WARRANT WAS ISSUED FOR BELL'S ARREST BECAUSE OF AN UNPAID PARKING TICKET ISSUED IN OAKDALE IN APRIL AND PAID THE $150 FINE AND RELEASED. INTEL DUE BACK IN COURT DECEMBER 3rd TO FACE THE FORMAL ARRAIGNMENT.
