Bob Mayo
ReporterBob Mayo is a long-time general assignment reporter for Pittsburgh’s Action News 4 with a focus on politics, government and the courts.
A Pittsburgh native, Bob joined WTAE team in 1994. Prior to joining WTAE, he was known for his work as a radio journalist and city hall reporter for WTAE Radio, WWSW and as an editor at Pittsburgh all-news radio station, KQV.
Bob, who has covered the region for nearly four decades on both radio and television, is the winner of more than 30 awards for excellence in journalism: including national, state and regional honors. Bob was chosen for a SPJ Taishoff Broadcast Fellowship and was chosen as a member of the inaugural class of Leadership Pittsburgh, a major community leadership development program.
He has served in leadership roles with journalism organizations including the Pittsburgh Chapter of the Society of Professional Journalists, the Press Club of Western Pennsylvania and the Radio-TV Digital News Association. Bob is a 1977 graduate of the University of Pittsburgh who lives in the North Hills with his wife, Yvonne.
