AEW is in town for two shows at the Petersen Events Center. Several of the top names spent some time packing boxes at the Greater Pittsburgh Community Food Bank on Thursday.
"I love volunteering," said Thunder Rosa. "I always volunteer in my local community -- I'm from San Antonio -- and I'm part of the outreach community, and this just hits home."
"We get to be one -- work together for a change rather than work against each other -- all to help out somebody that's less fortunate," said Mark Henry.
The company recently resumed touring for weekly shows, and the wrestlers say it has given them a chance to get back out into the community to do some good.
"Since we've been able to travel again since the pandemic restrictions have opened up, AEW has really made a point to have a little outreach program for every community we come to, so myself and some of the other wrestlers and staff members came down here today to help out and see what it's all about," said Jack "Jungle Boy" Perry.
"My family, we didn't have a lot of food at a certain point, especially after (Hurricane) Katrina," said Ricky Starks. "I like to do things like this, just because I can relate on a more personal level, and I think it's just fun to get away from constantly being in wrestling mode. You go from one city to another. You never really get to spend time."
AEW aired a live episode of "Dynamite" from Pitt's campus on Wednesday night. The arena will also host the premiere of AEW's newest show, "Rampage," on Friday night.
