PITTSBURGH’S 4TH OF JULY CELEBRATION IN DEPENDANCE DAY IS NOW LESS THAN TWO WEEKS AWAY AND TODAY, THE CITY OF PITTSBURGH OUTLINING ITS PLANS FOR THIS BIG HOLIDAY. IT WILL BE NEARLY A FULL DAY OF ACTIVITIES AND FUN ON JULY 4TH. ONE OF THE BIG PLANS FOR THIS YEAR INCLUDES LOCAL AND NATIONALLY TOURING PERFORMERS, PLAYING ON THREE DIFFERENT STAGES. ONE AT POINT STATE PARK, ONE ON THE NORTH SHORE, AND ANOTHER ON LIBERTY AVENUE. THE CITY SAYS THOSE FESTIVITIES WILL BEGIN AT FOUR THAT AFTERNOON WITH A C-17 FLYOVER AND INTERACTIVE MILITARY DISPLAY. With Independence Day less than two weeks away, the city of Pittsburgh is outlining its plans for the annual Fourth of July holiday celebration.Several hours of activities are planned throughout the day on July 4, leading up to the grand finale with fireworks at night.One of the big plans this year includes local and nationally touring performers on three stages — one at Point State Park, one on the North Shore and another on Liberty Avenue. No acts have been announced yet.Festivities at the Point are set to begin at 4 p.m. with a C-17 flyover, interactive military display, hot air balloon and children's activities.
